Mysterious death of woman in Guwahati city hotel

GUWAHATI: A woman named Tazlima Khatoon was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a city hotel on Wednesday morning with her a gag in her mouth. According to police sources, the victim and a man - who introduced himself as her husband Faizuddin (32) - had checked into the Hotel Rajhans at SS Road in Fancy Bazar on January 14.

The employees of the hotel became suspicious because they had not seen the duo over the last couple of days, and they opened the door of the room concerned with the master key. They found Tazlima Khatoon lying dead on the floor with a gag in her mouth and informed the police. Faizuddin is absconding, the sources said, adding that when contacted Faizuddin's family in Lakhipur in the Goalpara district said that the victim was not his wife as he is married to another woman.
